Tornado Party

For Josh's 6th birthday he had a tornado party.

The cake (which took me a whole day to make) was a big hit. To add to our party theme, it was really windy and everything kept blowing away.

When the boys arrived they each made a tornado tube. These kept their attention much longer than I thought it would.

I was able to pull them away from the tubes long enough to play one
fun game of twister.

The boys then had running races until I was ready with the next game;they had to build a house out of boxes and then pretend to be a twister and knock it down. They had a lot of fun with that.

Next it was presents and cake and ice cream. The wind made it difficult. Josh pretended to blow out the candle and the plates and cups kept leaving.

In the end I pulled out some water guns and they had a water fight. We had a lot
of fun.

Sounds like a perfect party for a little boy! How did you get your "twister" to stay up on your cake!?

The twister was rice krispie treats around two wooden dowels. I had to store it in the freezer and then it lasted for the party, but afterward it just fell over.
