Just a side not: When we were walking home after taking Emily to school Josh saw a black cat cross the road and then start meowing.
J: "What is that cat doing?"
V: "I don't know, what do you think it is doing?"
J: "Crying."
V: "Why do you think it is crying?"
J: "It wants its mommy and daddy."
